VCAL Shop Opening
Our VCAL students have embarked on an exciting new learning adventure. From Wednesday May 1st, the students will open their own shop to the public, selling goods designed and made by the students themselves.
The shop, located at 47 Desailly Street, Sale, will be open every Wednesday from 10.00am to 11.00am. Students will take an active role in the running of the shop, including serving customers, cash handling, and promotion. The aim is to provide a quality service to the local community and to give the students the experience of a running of a retail shop.
VCAL Coordinator Tim Johnson said: “This is a great opportunity for our students to experience the operation of a retail shop in our community through the selling of goods that have been produced by the VCAL department. Students will be able to communicate with locals and develop skills to better prepare themselves for the workforce.”
Catholic College Sale is committed to giving our VCAL students as much real world work experience as possible in order to prepare them for their transition to the workforce.
Assistant Principal, Learning and Teaching Ms Cindy Foat said: “The College is very proud of the quality of the products that the VCAL students produce through their small businesses and this is a great opportunity for them to share their talents and skills with the wider community.”
