SSV Senior Boys Cricket Success!
CCS has put in a powerful performance in its first outing on the cricket pitch for 2025, winning two games from as many starts at the recent SSV Wellington Senior Boys Cricket Finals at the College Ovals, Sale.
Winning the toss and electing to bat in our first match against Sale College, CCS put on 2/221 from its 20 overs. Several batsmen contributed to the total, including Tom Boyd (51* ret.), Charlie Morris (50* ret.), Harry Tatterson (50* ret.), Mitch McMaster (21* ret.) and Jesse Parker (23*). In reply, four bowlers claimed two wickets each including Will Moon (2/3), Mitch McMaster (2/3), Jye Brickley (2/5) and Jesse Reid (2/15), as we restricted our opponents to be all out for 50.
Our second match against Traralgon College saw CCS amass 6/198 from it’s allotted overs – Harry Tatterson leading the way with 88 off 40 deliveries, in an innings that included eight huge 6s. Tom Boyd was our next highest scorer with 36 (24). Wickets were shared again among the CCS bowlers with Jesse Reid’s 3/15 off three overs leading the way (one of which was a terrific caught and bowled dismissal). The consistent Mitch McMaster (2/2 off one) and Jye Brickley 2/10 (off 3 overs) also chimed in with a pair of their own as we bowled Traralgon out for 71.
CCS now progress on to the SSV Gippsland Finals later this term.
