School Sport Victoria – Wellington Athletics
A 95-strong contingent of students and staff journeyed to the Jo Carmody Running Track in Newborough on Friday 24th August for the 2018 SSV Division Athletics competition.
Competing against teams and athletes from around the Wellington area, Catholic College Sale students had an enjoyable and successful day in superb conditions.
A significant number of students placed well in their events, with some outstanding individual results:
CCS had four age champions on the day:
- Jonathan Boyd (Year 7) in the 12-13 Years Boys;
- Grace O’Brien (Year 8) in the 14 Years Girls;
- Leyla Berry (Year 11) in the 17 Years Girls; and
- Tahlia Dower (Year 12) in the 18-20 Girls category.
In another pleasing display, each 4x100m relay team entered by the College, finished in the top two, meaning all will progress on.
The next round of competition will fall on Thursday September 20th, in the last week of term.
